North Dakota Personalized, Competency-based Learning Cohort Schools/Districts

Beginning in 2018, a select group of schools and districts signed on to receive personalized, grant-funded technical assistance from national non-profit KnowledgeWorks, a variety of other national partners, and the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. Each committed to a five-year journey of systems transformation through a cohort model.
 

 

North Dakota Department of Public Instruction

The North Dakota  Personalized, Competency-Based Learning (ND PCBL) Cohort, led by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) and supported by KnowledgeWorks, serves as an incubator for Personalized, Competency-Based Learning (PCBL) in North Dakota.

 

North Dakota Regional Education Association

REA directors engaged in the North Dakota Personalized, Competency-based Learning Cohort as collaborative members of district design teams, co-led and participated in the design of the state-level learning continuum, and continue to support the North Dakota Network for Personalized Learning as members of the steering committee.

 

North Dakota Network for Personalized Learning New Educators, Schools, and Districts

Leaders and Educators from across the state are welcome to enter the work as an individual, as part of a school or district team exploring personalization, or as a district committed to systems transformation. 

 

Higher Education Partners, including the North Dakota Tribal College System 

Community College and University leaders engaged in the North Dakota Personalized, Competency-based Learning Cohort as collaborative members of district design teams, participated in the design of the state-level learning continuum, and continue to support the North Dakota Network for Personalized Learning as members of the steering committee.
